[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PNqsJc7xMM&w=472]Viridor site staff have been making a festive impact in West Sussex after starring in a short Christmas-themed film to promote recycling in West Sussex.
The fun film features a community choir singing their take on the 12 days of Christmas, though their version features lines such as “On the first day of Christmas West Sussex recycled for me … an Alan Partridge DVD.”
The film, designed to encourage residents to use their local Household Waste Recycling Sites, has captured the imagination of site staff and residents alike.
Viridor’s Education and Customer Relations Manager, Jen Hake said: “We really want to make recycling as easy as possible for people each and every day and especially at Christmas. This year our site staff have truly embraced the Christmas spirit by making this short, fun film about recycling over the festive season to highlight some of the more unusual everyday household items our sites will accept for recycling.”
Viridor manages a network of 11 Household Waste Recycling Sites (HWRSs) in partnership with West Sussex County Council.
Lionel Barnard, West Sussex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Residents Services, said: “This Christmas is likely to lead to a lot of items being thrown out – from old computer games or unwanted CDs to old kettles, for instance – but don’t forget these can all be recycled.
“It’s surprising the amount of material that can be recycled. Please remember that not all of it can go into your kerbside recycling bin, but it will be accepted at your local Household Waste Recycling Site.
