REPIC Launches Its “Powering Communities” Campaign

As part of its latest “Responsible Recycling” initiative, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) producer recycling scheme, REPIC, is launching a “Powering Communities” campaign, aimed at giving community groups, schools and good causes the chance to each win £500 worth of vouchers for new electrical products.

The campaign is being rolled out by REPIC to mark the 10th anniversary of the Government’s WEEE Directive, and will look to reward good causes in 10 regions across the UK. The total prize pot of £5,000 will be split across the  regions and is open to any local community group, school, or good cause – such as not-for-profit organisations and registered charities. They simply need to answer two questions: “What electrical product do you need and how will it will make a difference?” Followed by: “What is the name of the REPIC Robot mascot?”

Mark Burrows-Smith, CEO of REPIC says: “We’re proud to have collected and treated over 2m tonnes of WEEE to date and hope that the “Powering Communities” campaign will encourage people to think about responsibly recycling their old electricals, particularly when they purchase new ones.
