Resource Futures’ operations director, Sam Reeve (pictured), will take over as CEO from April 2016, it has been announced, after current CEO, Jane Stephenson set to become the company’s business development director.
Sam Reeve commented: “This is an exciting time for Resource Futures as we work to increase resource efficiency in the UK and beyond. I am delighted to have been appointed as the company’s next CEO and I am looking forward to leading the organisation’s future development, with Jane’s support in her new role.
“Our holistic approach to resource efficiency, incorporating data analysis and innovative behaviour change programmes, is well aligned with the future requirements outlined in the EU’s Circular Economy package last week. The addition of Phil Cumming as a Non-Executive Director will assist us in the continued development of our support to commercial clients to add maximum value within their supply chains and communities.”
Jane Stephenson, CEO at Resource Futures, added: “The time is now right for Resource Futures to act on succession planning. I remain very much involved with the company and my new role will be even more focused on developing new business and strategic alliances as we respond to the changing demands of current and future clients and the opportunities within the circular economy.”

Resource Futures also announced the appointment of Phil Cumming to the Board with immediate effect. Phil is an independent consultant, trading as Koru Sustainability, and brings with him considerable insight into sustainability issues and engagement of the corporate sector and is currently working as a sustainability advisor to Marks & Spencer.
At the end of March 2016, Andy Doran, one of the company’s current Non-Executive Directors and Senior Manager at Novelis, comes to the end of his term and will be standing down.
Phillip Ward, Chairman at Resource Futures, commented: “All of us at Resource Futures are extremely grateful for what Jane has done in leading the company since its formation in 2006 and for the way in which she has instigated and managed the company’s succession planning. I am particularly pleased that Sam Reeve, a founding Director, will be taking the company forward as the new CEO. The manner in which Jane, the Board and the wider company has approached the change means there should be little or no impact on daily business.
“I would also like to thank Andy Doran for the knowledge and commercial insights he has brought to the Board over the last four years. I welcome Phil Cumming to our team, who will support us in fulfilling our ambitions and meeting the challenges of resource efficiency, data management and behaviour change.”
