Shortlist Unveiled For The 2016 Scottish Resources Awards

sraThe Scottish Resources Awards (SRA) has unveiled its 2016 shortlist of applicants.

The SRA are a part of the Scottish Resources Conference, which is jointly run by CIWM and Zero Waste Scotland and is now in its 15th year.

The conference will bring together a wide range of Scottish businesses, public sector and third sector organisations, practitioners, educators and policy makers. In fact, anyone who is passionate about global trends, growing their business, a waste free Scotland and developing a circular economy.

“Our judges have had the challenging task of narrowing down this year’s entrants to a shortlist of just 23 which really goes to show the pioneering work that is going on in Scotland at the moment.”

The conference culminates in a celebration of success with the SRA ceremony.

Taking place on the evening of the second day of the conference, the SRA provides an opportunity for the public, private and community sector to gain national recognition for their involvement and innovation within resource management.

All finalists will receive a complimentary ticket to the awards ceremony on Thursday 6 October at The Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

SRA said: “It’s been a great year for innovation and excellence within Scotland and the sustainability and resource sector as a whole and this has been further supported by the record number of entries we received for this year’s awards.

“Featuring new categories for 2016, these awards recognise best practice within the Scottish waste and recycling industry and this awards dinner is dedicated to recognising the exceptional achievements of organisations and individuals striving for a zero waste society.

“Our judges have had the challenging task of narrowing down this year’s entrants to a shortlist of just 23 which really goes to show the pioneering work that is going on in Scotland at the moment.”
