The Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has announced that it has joined Charity Car – the new car recycling scheme from Cartakeback.com, which allows people to donate the value of their old car to charity.
Karen England, Director of Fundraising, explained: “When we heard about Charity Car we thought it was a great idea. Not only will it help to raise money for charity but also help the environment by taking the older, more polluting cars off the road and recycling them responsibly and legally.”
If a car still has some life left in it, then the maximum value will be gained, by selling it to the highest bidder at auction and this will be passed straight onto the chosen charity. And for cars which have reached the end of the road, Cartakeback will make sure that each one is recycled in line with EU regulations at a licensed recycling centre, passing on 100% of the car’s market value to the customer’s chosen charity. Cartakeback will even collect the car free of charge from the customer’s home or workplace.
Rebecca Roddis, Press Officer for Cartakeback, said: “Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. This is such a great cause and we are thrilled to have the chance to work with them.”
