Plan B Management Solutions was established in 2006 and provides Consultancy Services, Materials Marketing and Sales, and Managed Services on behalf of local authority and private sector clients. We have extensive multi-disciplinary operational experience gained from innovative public sector service transformations and supported by a deep understanding of environmental sciences.

We support our clients in designing and delivering front-line environmental services such as waste and recycling collection, household recycling centres, waste transfer stations, material recycling facilities, grounds maintenance and street cleansing.

In 2020 the company achieved accreditation to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, as well as Investors in People (Silver), and is a Commercial Partner of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and a Member of the Environmental Services Association

Materials Sales and Marketing
Plan B provides a comprehensive one stop shop for the marketing and sales of waste and recyclable materials. We help our clients market and sell their materials using our innovative suite of trading tools and tactics to always achieve best value. Our intelligence led approach to trading means we are constantly in touch with markets allowing us to proactively manage market risks and opportunities. In addition to kerbside collected materials such as paper/card, cans, plastics, glass, textiles, food and garden waste, we can also secure outlets for commingled recyclables and HWRC derived materials such as wood, plasterboard, hardcore, WEEE, metals, carpets and mattresses.

We provide full operational and back-office management of services on behalf of local authority and private sector clients. Our services provides our clients with:

– Outsourced Services Management – full management of waste and recycling collections, household recycling centres, transfer stations, grounds maintenance and street cleansing services on behalf of local authority clients
– Interim Services Management – interim management of environmental services on behalf of local authority clients looking to introduce new services or transitioning between service delivery models
– DSO/ LATco Support – provision of specialist services to develop a tailored delivery model to support DSOs and LATCos with the direct delivery of their services.

We provide full operational and back-office management of services on behalf of our clients, with our team embedded in the client structure, offering bespoke solutions designed specifically to meet client needs.

In September 2023 Plan B was awarded its first service contract by Bridgend County Borough Council. The contract covers waste and recycling collection, the bulking and marketing of recyclable materials and the operation of three Community Recycling Centres.
