UK’s Largest Waste Container Refurbishing Facility Set To Open

The UK’s largest waste container refurbishment facility is set to have its open day next week (22 May).

Fairport Containers Ltd’s Bridgwater facility is 57,0000 sqft with a layout in the form of one long process line, allowing for any type of container to move down its 155m length (equivalent of 1.5 football pitches) as it progresses through our tried and tested production process.

With over £1m of investment at the site, in one shift it can refurbish the equivalent of 140 FELs/Skips/RELs/Charity Banks, 35 bulkers and 100 trade waste containers per week, which is a 20% increase on its second largest facility based in Adlington in the North West of England.

Fairport have invested in future proofing the facility by installing the latest technology. It has installed two state of the art shot blasting units utilising the latest technology.

The opening coincides with Fairport celebrating 25 years of business.

Fairport Containers Chairman, Andrew Porter commented: “It gives me great pride in joining our employees, clients and business partners to celebrate our 25th anniversary by opening our Bridgwater facility.”

The company says it has saved its customers over £200m over its 25 years of operation when comparing refurbishment cost, which is typically 1/3 of the cost of buying new.
