Blue Castle Group Commercial Director, David Brighton (pictured), visited the JoJo Maman Bébé warehouse to carry out a site audit and could recommend many waste recycling initiatives that will help the company become more environmentally efficient, as well as being cost effective.

JoJo Maman Bébé have recently rolled out a UK wide strategy supported by Blue Castle Group that allows the company to work towards a zero waste to landfill initiative at all its 85+ UK stores.

New waste handling equipment has been installed at the Newport warehouse allowing waste streams to be turned into a resource. All UK stores have had special containers provided by Blue Castle Group, including recycling containers to provide recycling at source.

As part of its approach, Blue Castle Group outlined where immediate improvements could be made, and a strategy for ongoing improvements across the business. It planned to deliver the CIWM WasteSmart training course to all area managers, giving them the knowledge and ability to implement better waste strategies across their stores.

JoJo Maman Bébé commented on the course, saying: “The WasteSmart training was informative, interesting and extremely enlightening; a lot of ‘Wow, really?’ was heard throughout the session! The course has given all attendees an improved knowledge and focus going forward which will be passed down to all areas of the business.”

Marie Harley, Blue Castle Group CEO, commented: “This approach is very well received as it helps our customers to understand the benefits of adopting a proactive approach to how they recycle waste. The overall effect is happy customers, a sustainable planet, as well as cost savings and business efficiencies.”
