Coffee cup recycling bins have been rolled out across all Roadchef motorway service areas.
One of the UK’s leading motorway service area (MSA) operators, Roadchef, has introduced 87 new Costa coffee cup recycling bins across its 30 locations as part of its efforts to divert all waste from landfill and recycle as much as possible.
Full implementation of the initiative follows a successful trial at its Sandbach motorway service area. This latest project by Roadchef aims to minimise its impact on the environment through effective waste management systems. Other standout actions from the motorway service operator include recycling 500 tonnes of cardboard every year, turning 220 tonnes of coffee grounds into biofuel and buying all energy from renewable sources, including on-site solar panels, saving 480 tonnes of CO2 per year alone.
