Installed by EvoEnergy, this is predicted to translate into a saving of 34,666kg in CO2 emissions in the first year alone. The store is designed to cut carbon consumption by up to two-thirds, a remarkable achievement in energy efficiency.

  • Recycled Lighting Columns: The lighting fixtures within the store are not just energy-efficient but also made from recycled materials. This approach extends the life cycle of existing materials, reducing waste and the need for new resources.
  • Low-Temperature Tarmac: The use of low-temperature tarmac in the store’s construction process signifies a reduction in energy usage during laying and a decrease in harmful emissions. This innovative material aligns with Aldi’s goal of reducing its environmental impact.

It accepts a range of items that are often problematic for local recycling programs, such as coffee pods, medicine packets, batteries, soft plastics, and cosmetic packaging.   • Nuts and Coffee Refill Fixture: In a move towards reducing packaging waste, the store has introduced a nuts and coffee refill station.
